This Wesco 220649 portable steel folding hand truck can be used for transporting heavy loads up to 275 lb. in a variety of settings. It is made of steel for strength and durability and it can be folded for portability or space-saving storage. The truck has a noseplate that measures 19 x 12 inches (W x D). It measures 19 x 19 x 42 inches (W x D x H) overall when open and 19 x 2 x 29.5 inches (W x D x H) when folded. (W is width the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth the horizontal distance from front to back; H is height the vertical distance from bottom to top.) This hand truck has two 7' non-marking rubber wheels for maneuverability and has built-in elastic straps for securing the load. Hand trucks are L-shaped with handles at the top two wheels at the bottom and a small platform that touches the ground when the truck is upright. A load is placed on the platform and the truck is tilted back balancing the weight over the wheels. Powered hand trucks have a platform that lifts the load up or lowers it down to reduce human labor. Some hand trucks may be convertible to platform trucks for moving large or cumbersome loads.
